Post Thanksgiving Ruminations....

Well, Thanksgiving is behind us now and what remains of 2005 will pass by in a flurry of shopping, Christmas trees, parties, family, etc, etc...

As usual, Thanksgiving was spent with the family, overstuffing ourselves with turkey, stuffing, gravy, and the rest of the usual suspects. I think most people are so stressed out between traveling and dealing with family, that most people don't take the time to stop and think about how fortunate we are, no matter how "difficult" our situation may seem at times.

RM and I were fortunate to take a girls' trip to Big Sur after the BIG T-day. We realized how thankful we should be on a daily basis and it's sad that so many people live their lives without being really grateful for everything. We were thankful for being able to see the beauty of the CA coastline. Thankful that we could walk and hike. Thankful that we had a car and money for food and gas. Thankful for our friendship and our respective families.

Do you really take the time to think about how fortunate you are? Do you take time to be grateful for the opportunities that you've been given? Do you realize that a one month car payment can feed an entire family in Africa for a whole year or more??? It truly puts things into perspective.
