Blog is me....

What is blogging? Where did it come from? How does "blog" even become a word? Does this mean that I can coin my own words too?

Fun in Yosemite

The weather forecast said that there is a 20% chance of rain on Thurs., 5/19/05. We were supposed to have clear skies. We were supposed to be dry. We were supposed to be prepared. Apparently, the weatherman was wrong. That's odd....
Well, my three "J" engineering friends and I went to Yosemite on Sunday. We set up camp and cozied up in our tents. We went to sleep to the steady beat of rainfall on our tents. We woke up to the steady beat of rainfall on our tents....and a pool of water. Who would have thought that a Therm-a-Rest would become a floatation device?

Bad idea: Camping in the rain.
Worse idea: Camping in the rain with only one tarp for two tents.

Bad idea: Driving into Yosemite Valley for breakfast.
Worse idea: Driving into Yosemite Valley for breakfast when two different intersections were already flooded.

Bad idea: Asking if the roads will be open soon.
Worse idea: Asking if the roads will be open soon, just as another downpour hits.

Bad idea: Drinking beer at 5pm after realizing we were stranded for sure.
Worse idea: Drinking beer at 5pm, when we should have started at 11am, when we were first told we were stranded in the valley.

Bad idea: Sleeping in a tent bungalow in Curry Village.
Worse idea: Sleeping in a tent bungalow in Curry Village, overrun by loud high school kids from San Diego.

Its also fun when you spend a night in the rain, next to a lake, having picked out rocks above water level that get covered by water......then the next day the camp host shows up at their tent saying they didn't even spend the night at camp.......
